Brady began his glamorous affair with Gisele
It was such an un-gay week, people were getting married and/or engaged (and we all know that’s an activity the gays are not invited to participate in). Remember Tom Brady? The injured ex-Patriot (okay, he’s still on the team; I just liked the pun) has finally (and officially) become engaged to Leonardo DiCaprio’s former luvvah, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, to the tune of a diamond solitaire and a bitchy Bundchen rep who told People magazine, “We don’t comment on our clients’ private lives.”
Brady began his glamorous affair with Gisele a few years ago when he was dating actress Bridget Moynihan, best known for falling down the stairs while chasing Carrie Bradshaw out of Mr. Big’s apartment in season three of Sex and the City. After he left her for Gisele (and really, who wouldn’t? Even I might) she popped out his first kid. I suppose he could keep her around as a surrogate, since robbing the world of Gisele’s perfect figure would likely violate one or more of the Geneva Conventions.
And in case you hadn’t heard, Fergie let her London Bridges down this weekend and finally tied the knot with Josh Duhamel, making them my new second favorite celebrity couple (Douglas-Zeta-Jones will always have my heart) now that Witherspoon and Phillippe are a thing of the past (oh, but the Jolie-Pitts are up there, especially with their high profile pro-gay-marriage stance, but they’re not married so that’s different).
What does this have to do with the gay week in sports, you ask? Duhamel was the quarterback on his college football team. Granted, it was in North Dakota. And it wasn’t NCAA, but NAIA. And the team mascot was the beaver. But it’s enough to fill up some space here. And by the way…

Model Gisele Bundchen will dawn on covers of Elle fashion magazine all over the world. The fact that she is one of the most wanted faces from the catwalk is evident from her new commissions for three Elle covers: the one for South Africa, Spain and Singapore.
Gisele posed in hot shorts with a rose in her hand for the Spanish edition, while her South African look was a bit more romantic a blue strapless dress. The Elle cover in Singapore will feature her in a sports top and shorts. Apart from three covers, Gisele is also featured in a campaign for Versace with Kate Moss.

The New England Patriots quarterback proposed with a diamond solitaire to the Brazilian supermodel on Friday, says People.
"He asked and she accepted," a source close to the couple says. Family and friends were filled in over the weekend. An official announcement, and prelim wedding details, are being planned by Bündchen and her closest friends this week.
